This months Speaker is  – Clare Prime from Homecall…\n\n\n\nA Voluntary Home Visiting Service for Blind & Partially Sighted people in Bexhill and surrounding areas. \nHomecall was established in February 1985 to recruit\, select\, train and support volunteer visitors for a home visiting scheme. DESCRIPTION:Bexhill Day in 2025 will be held on Saturday\, August 16th 2025. It’s a day to celebrate the town of Bexhill-on-Sea\, and local community groups\, organizations\, and charities are encouraged to participate by showcasing their work. The event will include a variety of activities\, demonstrations\, and giveaways. \nWe will have a stand there so please pop along if you can. \nBexhill Town Council quoted in the Bexhill News July 2025 Edition 37: – \n“Bexhill Town Council is pleased to announce that we will continue the tradition of celebrating Bexhill Day\, first introduced to the town in 1917\, before being reintroduced by the newly formed Town Council in 2021. The celebration has traditionally taken place on or around the 20th of August; correspondingly\, this year’s Bexhill Day will be held on Saturday\, August 16th\, from10am until 3pm. \nOnce again\, a section of East Parade will be transformed into a health and wellbeing market featuring local organisations\, charities and services\, all eager to meet and engage with the public. Stalls\, activities and community spirit will all be on show as we celebrate the best of our \ntown. Representatives from the emergency services and the armed forces will be attendance\, providing information about their services and activities in the area. \n \nAnd as last year\, we are excited to present a flypast of military aeroplanes – weather permitting – a moment which will feel especially poignant and meaningful as we commemorate VJ Day that weekend. \nThis is a perfect opportunity for you\, the public\, to meet with the people behind some of the community’s best-loved local institutions – or to discover something new in Bexhill-on Sea. Come along to our afternoon open event at the Bexhill Bandstand on the Seafront\, to share awareness of the Bexhill Diabetes Support Group\, meet potential members and answer any questions. \nWe provide peer support to all people with diabetes and are all diabetes sufferers ourselves.\nWe can provide useful knowledge as well as good ideas to help our members manage their condition better with advice from interesting professional speakers at our regular monthly meetings.\nThe Committee try to theme each meeting. The Speaker giving a talk leading to a discussion on aspects of improving members diabetes lifestyle.
