8th October 2024 Monthly Meeting

All welcome to our monthly meeting. We have a different speaker each month, with a few favourite speakers returning and some interesting new speakers. Plenty of chat, a raffle and tea & biscuits.

8th October 2024-We have Tracey Firth from  Age UK East Sussex. She is  the SCAMS Officer there and will talk to us about this very current topic. 

Anyone can fall prey to a scam, regardless of age, gender, education or economic background. The average age of victims is 74 as criminals tend to target older and often more vulnerable members of society. Scammers are organised, predatory criminals who gain trust to exploit and steal money. Over a three-month period, victims of scams in Sussex lost an average of £23,000 each.
