Bexhill Diabetes Support Group- Monthly Meeting October 2023

All welcome to our monthly meeting. We have a different speaker each month, with a few favourite speakers returning and some interesting new speakers. Plenty of chat, a raffle and tea & biscuits.

This monthe we  have the Medical Detection Dogs Charity- Jonathan Goddard. https://www.medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk/. Confirmed.

Jonathan Goddard, your speaker, was a former Sussex Police officer and Government Intelligence officer. In 1998 he suffered a serious road accident which led to him becoming a insulin dependent type 1 diabetic.  After nearly 10 years of being a diabetic he started loosing the ability to tell what his sugar levels were doing. (Hypo unaware).

In 2013 Jonathan discovered the amazing charity Medical Detection Dogs and 3 years later was paired with his yellow labrador Ralph.

Jonathan will talk about the work the charity does,  not only in respect of Diabetes and will tell you his story of his amazing partnership and journey with Ralph,  who of course will be present.

There will be an opportunity to meet Ralph and ask any questions re the charities work.
